(Matthew 5:14-16) "You are the light of
the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot
be hidden. {15} "Nor do they light a lamp and
put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and
it gives light to all who are in the house. {16}
"Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works and glorify your Father
in heaven.
(John 8:12) Then Jesus spoke to them
again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He
who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but
have the light of life."
(Psalms 18:28) For You will light my
lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my
darkness.
(Psalms 34:5) They looked to Him and were
radiant, And their faces were not
ashamed.
(Psalms 43:3) Oh, send out Your
light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them
bring me to Your holy hill And to Your
tabernacle.
(Psalms 89:15) Blessed are
the people who know the joyful sound! They walk,
O LORD, in the light of Your
countenance.
(Psalms 112:4) Unto the
upright there arises light in the darkness; He
is gracious, and full of compassion, and
righteous.
(Proverbs 4:18) But the path
of the just is like the shining sun, That shines
ever brighter unto the perfect
day.
(Isaiah 9:2-3) The people who walked
in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who
dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon
them a light has shined. {3} You have multiplied
the nation And increased its joy; They rejoice
before You According to the joy of harvest, As
men rejoice when they divide the
spoil.
(Isaiah 29:18-19) In that day the
deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the
eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and
out of darkness. {19} The humble also shall
increase their joy in the LORD, And the poor
among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of
Israel.
(Isaiah 42:6-7) "I, the LORD,
have called You in righteousness, And will hold
Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a
covenant to the people, As a light to the
Gentiles, {7} To open blind eyes, To bring out
prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in
darkness from the prison house.
(Isaiah
58:6-10) "Is this not the fast that I have
chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To
undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go
free, And that you break every yoke? {7} Is it
not to share your bread with the hungry, And
that you bring to your house the poor who are
cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover
him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
{8} Then your light shall break forth like the
morning, Your healing shall spring forth
speedily, And your righteousness shall go before
you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear
guard. {9} Then you shall call, and the LORD
will answer; You shall cry, and He will say,
'Here I am.' "If you take away the yoke from
your midst, The pointing of the finger, and
speaking wickedness, {10} If you extend your
soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted
soul, Then your light shall dawn in the
darkness, And your darkness shall be as the
noonday.
(Isaiah 60:1-3) Arise, shine;
For your light has come! And the glory of the
LORD is risen upon you. {2} For behold, the
darkness shall cover the earth, And deep
darkness the people; But the LORD will arise
over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
{3} The Gentiles shall come to your light, And
kings to the brightness of your
rising.
(Daniel 12:3) Those who are wise
shall shine Like the brightness of the
firmament, And those who turn many to
righteousness Like the stars forever and
ever.
(Micah 7:7-9) Therefore I will look
to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my
salvation; My God will hear me. {8} Do not
rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will
arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be
a light to me. {9} I will bear the indignation
of the LORD, Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my case And executes justice for
me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will
see His righteousness.
(Matthew 25:34-40)
"Then the King will say to those on His right
hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world: {35} 'for I was hungry and you
gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me
drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; {36}
'I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and
you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to
Me.' {37} "Then the righteous will answer Him,
saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and
feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? {38}
'When did we see You a stranger and take You in,
or naked and clothe You? {39} 'Or when did we
see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
{40} "And the King will answer and say to them,
'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you
did it to Me.'
(Luke 8:16) "No one, when
he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or
puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand,
that those who enter may see the
light.
(John 1:3-5) All things were made
through Him, and without Him nothing was made
that was made. {4} In Him was life, and the life
was the light of men. {5} And the light shines
in the darkness, and the darkness did not
comprehend it.
(John 1:9) That was the
true Light which gives light to every man coming
into the world.
(John 3:19-21) "And this
is the condemnation, that the light has come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil. {20}
"For everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come to the light, lest his deeds
should be exposed. {21} "But he who does the
truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be
clearly seen, that they have been done in
God."
(John 9:3-5) Jesus answered,
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but
that the works of God should be revealed in him.
{4} "I must work the works of Him who sent Me
while it is day; the night is coming when no one
can work. {5} "As long as I am in the world, I
am the light of the world."
(John
11:9-10) Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve
hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he
does not stumble, because he sees the light of
this world. {10} "But if one walks in the night,
he stumbles, because the light is not in
him."
(John 12:35-36) Then Jesus said to
them, "A little while longer the light is with
you. Walk while you have the light, lest
darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness
does not know where he is going. {36} "While you
have the light, believe in the light, that you
may become sons of light." These things Jesus
spoke, and departed, and was hidden from
them.
(Romans 13:10-12) Love does no harm
to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment
of the law. {11} And do this, knowing the time,
that now it is high time to awake out of sleep;
for now our salvation is nearer than when we
first believed. {12} The night is far spent, the
day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the
works of darkness, and let us put on the armor
of light.
(2 Corinthians 3:18) But we
all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a
mirror the glory of the Lord, are being
transformed into the same image from glory to
glory, just as by the Spirit of the
Lord.
(2 Corinthians 4:3-6) But even if
our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who
are perishing, {4} whose minds the god of this
age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the
light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who
is the image of God, should shine on them. {5}
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus
the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for
Jesus' sake. {6} For it is the God who commanded
light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in
our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God in the face of Jesus
Christ.
(Ephesians 5:8-10) For you were
once darkness, but now you are light in the
Lord. Walk as children of light {9} (for the
fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness,
righteousness, and truth), {10} finding out what
is acceptable to the Lord.
(Ephesians
5:13-14) But all things that are exposed are
made manifest by the light, for whatever makes
manifest is light. {14} Therefore He says:
"Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And
Christ will give you light."
(Philippians
2:14-15) Do all things without complaining and
disputing, {15} that you may become blameless
and harmless, children of God without fault in
the midst of a crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the
world,
(1 Thessalonians 5:4-5) But you,
brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day
should overtake you as a thief. {5} You are all
sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of
the night nor of darkness.
(1 Peter
2:9-10) But you are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, His own special
people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light; {10} who once were not a people
but are now the people of God, who had not
obtained mercy but now have obtained
mercy.
(2 Peter 1:19) And so we have the
prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to
heed as a light that shines in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises
in your hearts;
(1 John 1:5-7) This is
the message which we have heard from Him and
declare to you, that God is light and in Him is
no darkness at all. {6} If we say that we have
fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we
lie and do not practice the truth. {7} But if we
walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all
sin.
(1 John 2:8-11) Again, a new
commandment I write to you, which thing is true
in Him and in you, because the darkness is
passing away, and the true light is already
shining. {9} He who says he is in the light, and
hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
{10} He who loves his brother abides in the
light, and there is no cause for stumbling in
him. {11} But he who hates his brother is in
darkness and walks in darkness, and does not
know where he is going, because the darkness has
blinded his
eyes. | |
